Bench dog is about the cheapest that is going to be good out of the box. If that is out of your price range, then your best bet is to find an old Stanley #5 for around $30-50 and restore it or you could roll the dice on a Grizzly but odds are you are going to have to do some work to get it in shape, at a minimum you are probably going to have to flatten the sole and the iron and sharpen it.
