Jack uses a mouse and a FragFX FragChuck instead of a keyboard.

The FragFX FragChuck https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00SLKVJ2Y/ref=cm_sw_r_other_awd_UsPGwbNMW7SY1 I want one, just haven't convinced myself to spend the money yet.

Maybe get something like [THIS] (https://www.amazon.com/SplitFish-Gameware-FragChuck-FragFX/dp/B00SLKVJ2Y/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=fragFX&qid=1549916965&s=videogames&sr=1-3) to replace your keyboard?

People use this with a mouse and have success.

Not sure if the keyboard or mouse is what's giving you issues, but I imagine its the keyboard

Have you had a look at something like this?

Also the Steam controller could make things easier for certain games, it has a built in Gyro which allows you to aim by moving the controller itself, I use it for Fallout 4 and COD 4 and really liked it. You can also map non steam games to work with the Steam controller.

So I ended up using a Nostromo since I had it laying around but the thumb movement is a little stretch for me and causes some soreness after prolonged playing. I think a joystick might help this. Now that I have 21 hours played I understand how the game works a little bit more. If I got a joystick for my left hand and kept on using the mouse in my right. Will the movement of the joystick itself map directly to the WASD keys? Where if I move it forward it will accelerate and back decelerate/back up? Along with partially forward/sideways and go that direction? The mini joystick on the nostromo works well with this. I just dont have large hands to fit my hands on the firing keys along with the movement. If i can find a joystick to achieve this along with 4-5 keys for targeting, weapons 1-3, and zoom on the stick itself I think it would work perfect for me. Also really tempted to get this FragTx

Try this: http://www.amazon.com/SplitFish-Gameware-FragChuck-FragFX/dp/B00SLKVJ2Y

I used this plus a mouse when gaming on a PS3. Coming from a PC world, I just can't use a controller for FPS. This made console gaming much more bearable for me.
