Why has everyone on this post been downvoted?

There's a daily question thread that you probably should have posted this in, but that's the only reason I can think of.

(1) Regardless, a cool stocking filler could be some JoyCon themed thumb grips.

(2) The only games that I can think of that aren't compatible with the Pro Controller are Mario Party and Pokemon Let's Go.

(3) There's tonnes of multiplayer games on the Switch! Mario Kart is a big one, and Smash comes out on the 7th of December (Just preordered!). Cooperatively Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze is supposed to be good, although I've heard it's quite difficult if you're not used to platformers. Some cheaper titles that have co-op are Overcooked 1 and 2, Shovel Knight, Gungeon, have a look on the eshop. I don't know anything about 9 Parchments, sorry!

(4) Not sure about this, perhaps a Nintendo themed canvas with one of his favourite characters or something? I'm sure you could commission one.

This whole relationship/situation sounds like goals, enjoy the Switch when you get it!

Is the stick itself feeling loose or the rubber cover? My solution is for the cover only, something like this:

You would still need to place the original sticks on since these are designed to go on top of them. Alternatively you could use glue to stick the original grips on.

I'd recommend an Orzly essentials pack. It comes with a glass screen protector (2 of them actually), a hard carry case and a silicone grip. And some added extras.

A glass screen protector is a must have, especially when kids drop stuff on it. And the silicone grip will absorb any impacts from dropping it. You could also see about joystick button covers so that if it was dropped face down, the joystick grips (I think they're called that) would absorb the impact.
