Hey man, this is exactly what I have done. I kinda like to think of myself as a pioneer regarding this setup/mount method. With this method I can adjust the placement location to better match the ac I am flying. Oh and forget about flexi goosenecks. I bought all I could find, as heavy duty as available and everyone flex when trying to push a button to the point it was unusable. That is when I thought of articulating arms. They work great.
