~$4k to buy a 2020 HU to swap in, or ~1.5k for an aftermarket HU like the Alpine Halo 9.

Edit: some more options and links for anyone curious and because I need somewhere to collect all the research I've been doing. I have these handy because this is exactly what I've been considering doing when I buy a 2018 Tacoma versus a new 2020.

Pioneer AVIC W8500 - $1000

  • Headunit replacement that is wireless capable for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Need to buy and program the iDataLink Maestro controller - $150 seperately to retain steering wheel functionality.

Plug and Play Alpine Halo 9 - $1500
  • This gives you a full 9" HU that is wired capable for Apple Car Play and Android Auto. Also includes the controlled required to retain all of the functionality of steering wheel buttons.

    Kenwood Excelon DMX - $390
  • Advertised as wireless Android Auto and wired Apple CarPlay but reviews I saw suggested that wired for both was more reliable. Also requires the above-linked Maestro Controller for steering wheel buttons functionality.

BeatSonic Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Module - $500
  • Makesyour factory Entune 2.0 and 2.5 headunit wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capable. Double press on the radio power button will switch between factory Entune radio and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. Retains steering wheel controls. Review on TacomaWorld showed slightly poor screen resolution.

    BeatSonic Mirroring Kit - $250
  • The one I linked is specifically for an iPhone, but they sell Android versions as well. This just mirrors your phone screen to the factory headunit. So, you still need to pull up your maps app on your phone for Navigation, but now it at least displays on your HU.

    Daisata Android 9.0 - $430
  • Basically an Android tablet built into a car stereo. Apparently this only requires an OEM GPS adapter cable - $17 and dash kit - $25 to be installed. Optionally add wireless Apple CarPlay dongle - $65. Requires the above linked Maestro controller for steering wheel functionality.

Here's an amazon link :) - https://www.amazon.com/Kenwood-Excelon-DMX905S-Multimedia-Receiver/dp/B07BSZNKC2/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3SNP6M8JQ4NMU&keywords=kenwood+excelon+dmx905s&qid=1556398444&s=gateway&sprefix=kenwood+excelon+dmx%2Caps%2C214&sr=8-1

Idk why the amazon reviews aren't the best, but it's an amazing headunit! No delay, no lag, spotify, apple car play... you name it! Super clean layout, I love it :)
