My method for photography is pretty simple. Get two large white poster boards and tape them together, then tape them down to a chair (so the bottom and back of the chair are covered in poster board). Set that up outside on a clear, sunny day, in the shade. It helps to have a good camera of course, I was lucky to get one for free from a Lost & Found box.

In my experience it is imperative to increase the brightness of the photo, here's a simple guide for increasing brightness in photoshop.

I usually also increase the saturation a little bit.

I take 3-4 photos of each pose, from slightly different angles, and choose which one I like the best.

Here's the camera I use.

Please correct anything that you think I'm doing wrong, I'm quite the photography noob myself.

I'll edit this in a minute with a before/after brightness-increase.

Edit: Raw photo, enhanced photo. The second photo had increased brightness, slightly increased saturation, and a crop job.

Edit 2: If you do take photos outside, be wary of the clouds. If the sun is covered by a cloud when you take the photo, the lighting will be very blue. For example.
