"LA Totally Awesome", a clear yellow cleaning solution. When soaked in this substance, all paint comes free naturally with no, or minimal, scrubbing, and no damage to the model.

If you are in the US and have access to a dollar store, look for a bottle of LA's Totally Awesome all purpose cleaner. I've used this in the past to strip models and it worked fantastically -- and it's CHEAP. Fill container with cleaner, place models in container, let sit overnight and then scrub with an old toothbrush.

As I said though if you have access to a "Dollar Tree" or similar, they will likely carry it for extremely cheap. Otherwise, Simple Green will work too albeit a little more pricey (still fairly cheap considering).
We have used LA's Totally Awesome cleaner to clean powder coated tumblers after running them through a 120watt Universal PLS 6.150D.
It pretty much just dissolves any residue as you spray. Its amazing.
