I find introducing evolution through childrenś books the best way to counter religious propaganda.

We just got Life Story by Virginia Lee Burton, the same lady who wrote and illustrated The Little House. It's AWESOME! It's a tiny bit dated (Pluto is still listed as a planet, Apatosaurus is still listed as Brontosaurus, and the "modern" portion is... yeah... not modern), but man, is it beautiful, and each page has so many facts and details. It's somewhat out of date scientifically, but the overall theme is still good. It's the entire history of life on Earth in book form, with good illustrations, designed for kids to understand. It's one of those things that helped me see that everything was interconnected, grand and glorious, and made religious teachings seem so small.
