Basically should fit fine right? Will this stereo improve my overall sound?
Those focus dashes weren't just a radio unit like you think of it, the dash kit was that whole silver plastic piece because Ford dashes are dumb.
Idk why they spent so much on the wiring, maybe there's something special about it.
As far as quality brands go, the only detachable touchscreen I can think of is the 4200nex at quite the premium. Not sure if any cheaper ones with a detachable face are out there. If you remove that requirement you can easily pick one up for less than $200.
Keep in mind you'll also need this, this, and this. You'll also lose steering wheel controls if you have them, so you'll need something like this just to keep them.
I have experience with this! I'm assuming you're installing a double DIN radio? You're going to need this dash kit and install it. I used the same exact kit and my car and it's fine. the center vents are loose though so keep an eye on that.
