I have this one: https://www.amazon.com/Milton-Brook-Unglazed-Mortar-Pestle/dp/B00509XTRC?th=1&psc=1 and I love it. This company has been around for over 200 years, so clearly they know what they're doing. It's truly a beautiful, well-crafted object, and I like the fact that it has the little pouring spout. I've got other gadgets that can do the same job, but I reach for this thing way more often. I had a cheap marble m&p in the past, but I like the way this one handles much more; the shape of the pieces gives me really good control without too much elbow grease. It's hard to describe, but this thing just has an artisanal quality that makes me feel good to look at it and use it. It just works.
