I'm a really bad anxious sweater and I'm the worst in social situations. It's been the worst at school - from late high school to my last few years in college. Once I get the littlest bit overheated, I get nervous about sweating, and the viscous cycle begins.
I bought myself one of these handheld mini fans and it's been the best thing ever. People have even asked me to borrow it, and I have no shame in using it. It's actually really handy and I bring it a lot of places (school, work, vacation, camping). It helps get my mind off of the sweating and cools me down. 3 power modes, and it charges with a USB charger.
Honestly one of the biggest things for me is just giving myself extra time to get there. I travel from out of town to my college, so I listen to a podcast and enjoy the AC in my car. If I give myself some extra time to get to school, 15 minutes to chill out, cool down with my fan (lol), and get my mind off of it before class.
It's a huge mind over matter thing for me. If I don't think about it, I don't sweat. When I start to get anxious, sometimes I try to think of my senses - start to ask yourself about things you hear, see, touch, etc. That helps clear my mind a mo
Also, I wear primarily black, white, and patterns. So at least if I sweat, it's not super noticeable. I bring an extra shirt if I need to. Headbands and hats help too - I sweat a lot from my hairline area so a patterned headband helps hide it (not sure if this would work if you're a guy though haha).
Another suggestion to add to the mix is to get yourself a fan! I'm also a ridiculously sweaty beast and carry a small folding fan (bought at the dollar store) in my purse to at least keep my face cool. I also am a huge fan of those small battery powered fans and fully plan to pack one and some extra batteries in my wedding day bag so I can get a bit of air movement up my skirt if needed.
