For anyone who has taken a look at that spreadsheet and is wondering whether you need to spend a lot of money to get high quality accessories, you honestly don't.

A ton of people on Eliteside swear by Logitech/Razer etc, and while the quality of those products is good, the price for those products can also be on the expensive side.

I'm a fingertip grip gamer myself, and because my hands are on the small side (I'm 5'7"/172 cm in height), it's pretty challenging trying to find a mouse that fits perfectly.

I've been through:

  • A Razer DeathAdder Respawn (£89.99) which I didn't like because of the larger than average size and bulky rear. This mouse is marketed towards palm grip gamers and it is definitely suited to that - I couldn't use my full range of motion because the rear end of the mouse was always banging into my palm.

  • A CoolerMaster Storm Spawn (~£135, apparently) which was a decent little mouse, but I felt like it was too small and definitely suited to more of a claw grip. Had to contort my fingers into claw grip position to even hold the thing, which isn't comfortable for me and caused a bit of strain while playing. Having said that, a lot of claw grippers swear by this thing.

  • A Mionix Naos 8200 (~£89.99) which was ergonomic as fuck - being able to rest my pinky on the curvature of the mouse was great - but I decided to try something else because I didn't like the sleek texture after a couple months. My hands get pretty sweaty during play sessions and it was like trying to wrestle with a midget underwater after a few hours.

After a lot of consideration, I ended up choosing, and loving, a Chinese MMO mouse called a Redragon M901 Perdition.

This thing costs a fraction of the price of the other mice that i've listed (only £30.00!). Not only is this mouse extremely affordable when compared to the other mice that I've used, but it has more customizability, more buttons, a more ergonomic layout for me (that angular rear side tho) and it's just flat out reliable as hell.

You get full windows 10 compatibility with downloadable software that can change the colour of the mouse to whatever you can imagine, full macro support with inputtable delays, rebindable everything and a rapid fire button if you're into that kind of thing. It even has five mini metal weights in the bottom side that you can take out if you prefer a lighter mouse.

Texture isn't an issue either - it's coated in some sort of miniature bubble-like rough coating which means I don't have a problem with grip anymore. I've had it for over a year now and definitely got my money's worth out of it. As soon as it breaks, I'm going right back to Amazon to buy another one.

My point here is that if you've never shelled out the money to go for high-end 'gamer' gear before, you don't have to spend mega bucks in order to be competetive or get a quality product.

I'm rocking the Mionix NAOS 8200 and loving it, so that's my personal recommendation. It is pricey at $89.99, however, although I was able to get it on sale at $69.98

How would you say the castor is sized/weighted relative to the naos 5000?

I prefer a fairly large/heavy mouse. I put most of the optional weights into the 5000. It looks to me like the naos 8200 has the same exact body as the 5000 so those should be the same. You ever have problems with the sensor on the castor?

  • Castor
  • Naos 8200
  • Naos 7000

There's also the Naos 7000 but it doesn't really seem different from the 5000 or 8200. Naos series uses laser sensors from 5000-8200 DPI. The Castor is an optical sensor with 5000 DPI native. I haven't really used anything apart from the Naos 5000 and cheap mice before that so I don't know much on the differences.

The 3200 version is ~$50.

I have the 8200, and goddammit if it's not the most comfortable mouse I've used.

I rarely ever see this suggested, but I love my Mionix Naos 8200. I've been using it for a few months now.

Got it to replace my Logitech G9X that died on me after a few years. Also a great mouse.

I personally dislike Razer. I have gone through a few different models and none of them have lasted very long for me. I really don't want to have to RMA something every 3-4 months.

They also feel uncomfortable to me. If you have never had one in your hand, I suggest finding a store like Frys Electronics that has keyboards/mice on display for you to play with and see how it feels to you.

Yes the deathadder, for the people who have suacers for hands. I actually want to change from this to a Mionix NAOS 8200 for the better ergonomics, also the reason that it has a place for your ring finger and pinkie to rest on, i cant stand the way my deathadder leaves them on the mouse mat. Another thing is that it is RGB too ^^

Have you thought about coming over to the dark side and joining us in Clan Mionix? Something for everybody!

I don't know why it is displaying that price, but this is the regular retail price.

I just found this MIONIX NAOS, looks like it might be worth a shot, though I've never heard of the company before.

It actually looks a lot like the SteelSeries WOW mouse, i wonder if I can find a non-WOW edition.

Mionix makes a few mice with the same shell as the ikari

could be found cheaper.

In case anyone else is interested in the Naos 8200, it appears to be on sale on Amazon.

Think I'm going to get a Death Adder. Too many gaming mice have 1000's of buttons. I just want a nicely built, functional and responsive 3-5 button mouse.

Just bought a Mionix Naos brand new for £35.
