I prefer the svelte feel of a naked phone. I came from a Moto Z Droid, which had no cases that would allow for the use of Moto Mods and am decently competent with treating expensive electronics with care.

That said, I went for about two weeks with a naked Note9. I caved and bought the [Insignia case](https://www.bestbuy.com/site/insignia-soft-shell-case-for-samsung-galaxy-note9-black-matte/6267401.p?skuId=6267401) in black at Best Buy. I work on a drilling rig and this phone is just too slick and a tad large in the hand for me to feel completely comfortable without something on it. I doubt that this case offers much drop protection, but it is certainly grippier than the phone was naked. Most importantly, it isn't bulky.

I think I will be buying the [MNML case](https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Galaxy-MNML-Case-Frosted/dp/B07G6N5FVJ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1536509101&sr=8-1&keywords=mnml+note+9) to compare against. It looks like a good compromise between case and no case.
