u/_Nozo If gaming is your priority, which seems to be the case, I recommend an Intel platform with the 9900KF (the KF doesn't have integrated graphics if you're wondering. That's the only difference between this and the 9900k.It's also about 50£ cheaper), 32GB of RAM (4X8GB,purely for estetics. You could go with 2x16 for about the same price if you feel like you need to do so), I threw the AORUS 2080TI in there cause it sort of keeps the theme I went for.In terms of performance you probably know that you won't see any noticeable difference (certainly not one that's worth the price) between the AIB air cooled models,so I guess go with what looks best for you.You could also go with an AMD platform, particularly with a 3900x (12c/24t) which will give you more processing power than the 9000KF (8c/16c) on pretty much everything else except gaming. The 9900k will fart and hit 5ghz just like that and with that ring bus architecture, well, there's our gaming champ. If games knew how to use 24 threads for instance, things would probably be different. With how much AMD has caught up though, the gap has closed significantly,so I advise you watch some tech reviewers doing their thing to decide what's worth it for you.

As for the monitor,my strong recommendation would be this :

LG32GK65F

For the price it's an absolute champ in all regards. If you want to go Ultrawide/Curved,bare in mind that it's harder to get a quality panel that ticks all boxes. If you want the best out there you could always get this bad boy :

LG34GK950F

A more price friendly ultrawide but at 100HZ,if that will ever be an option for you :

Msi Optix MAG341CQ

I just found at that the more expensive model of the 24inch version does have a VESA mount. Here it is:

https://www.amazon.com/MSI-OPTIXAG32C-Optix-Monitor-Curved/dp/B07794JYLJ/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1520301010&sr=8-2&keywords=msi%2Bgaming%2Bmonitor&th=1

And here is the proof, you have to scroll to the bottom of the page to find it.

I use an MSI Optix MAG monitor and I love it. 1080p curved, 144hz, 1ms response, and fairly cheap (~250USD for 24 inch)

Here’s a link to it

I have one of these and absolutely love it for the price

I would go for an intel 8th Gen I5 processor, it will provide all the performance you need and save you a few bucks. I would also get a monitor to match the performance your GPU. I recommend this MSI monitor. MSI Monitor

Make sure you read up on how to replace the liquid for the liquid cooler. Try to do it every 6 months at least.

Also this screen is pretty sweet. https://www.amazon.com/MSI-FreeSync-Non-Glare-Optix-MAG24C/dp/B07794JYLJ

Having a hard time deciding between this and the MSI Optix mag24c https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07794JYLJ/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=A2QCL91SEHW0DB&psc=1
The MSI is a bit more expensive but a bit better looking aesthetically and seems to have better color reproduction.. Any thoughts?

Samsung 27” 1080p 60hz Freesync IPS Heres the 24” version

24” MSI optix 144hz 1080p freesync This one is $30 over budget but worth considering due to the high refresh rate

u/FINALLY_I_TRIED · 1 pointr/buildapc

With this build you could make use of 1080p 144Hz, 1440p 60Hz and if you want to future-proof your monitor even 1440p at 144Hz. Here is a list of monitors that would fit:

u/NideoK · 1 pointr/Monitors

I would not consider the MSI (unless they fixed their panel from last gen) I bought the Optix MAG24C Feb 2018 and April 2019 the monitor started having "color lines". It is apparently a known issue as there are several reviewers that have the exact same issue with the same fix(same time period-around 1 year later). Changing the monitor refresh rate to 60hz fixes the issue but completely kills my original intent of having a 144hz monitor. So the component that regulates the monitor frequency is bad.

Color Lines

Reviews

Before the issue, it was the best monitor I had ever used. Colors were great and games were silky smooth with Freesync. Although, I had only used 60hz monitors before the MSI. Hope this helps, GL!

Let me know what you decide upon for monitor, I'm in the market for one as well. I'm not sure which one is best, but I'm looking at these 3:

- MSI Optix MAG24C - https://www.amazon.ca/G24C-FreeSync-Monitor-Non-Glare-Refresh/dp/B07794JYLJ?th=1

- ViewSonic XG2402 - https://www.amazon.ca/ViewSonic-XG2402-FreeSync-Advanced-Ergonomics/dp/B075D1B4SV?th=1

- BenQ ZOWIE XL2411P - https://www.amazon.ca/BenQ-Response-eQualizer-Vibrance-Adjustable/dp/B01H5KKQTM

I believe the AOC C24G1 and MSI Optix MAG24C are same/similar.

u/Defenseless-Pipe · 1 pointr/buildapcforme

You can get a better PSU, hdd, possibly ssd for the same price. Also fyi the 2600x gets pretty hot, and is basically a OCed 2600. Also op if you wanted a curved monitor https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07794JYLJ/ref=twister_B07DR1RFHJ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 is an idea

Was going to save up a little more and get this MSI Full HD FreeSync Gaming Monitor 24" Curved Non-Glare 1ms LED Wide Screen 1920 x 1080 144Hz Refresh Rate (Optix MAG24C) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07794JYLJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_IMt2BbGNYFFGA thoughts?

Upgrading my current build soon and need some help:

  • Best (most reliable, to be more specific I guess) RTX 2070 to buy?
  • Nvidia graphic cards work with FreeSync now, right? If so, which would be the monitor to upgrade to: Acer or MSI?
  • Planning to get the recently Ryzen 7 3700X when it releases. How substantial of an upgrade would this be? Is it overkill?
  • Do any of these new parts require me to get a new PSU?
  • Any other suggestions would be helpful.
u/NintendoNoNo · 1 pointr/buildapc

I've heard mixed things about that monitor, but just do your research and watch some YouTube videos to make sure you get a good one. The XG2400 monitors seem to be the ones that I always see people talking about, so that's why I mentioned them. I have an MSI Optix MAG24C monitor and have liked it so far, although I just bought it and haven't been able to use it much yet.

>do you think the PSU will be enough im planning on some pretty heavy overclocking, also in conjunction with the rgb not sure if it could keep up.

Honestly, I'm fairly new to PC building as well and I don't feel comfortable giving you a definitive answer to this. I was just reading up on power requirements for 2070s earlier today and it seemed like everybody had different opinions. Some were saying 500w is enough for a 2070 at stock while others said 650 minimum. Then others said better get an 850. So I have no clue whether 750 will be enough, especially when overclocking. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful!

If you're looking on the cheap side there's this 24" 144hz MSI monitor with VA panel and freesync: https://www.amazon.com/MSI-FreeSync-Non-Glare-Optix-MAG24C/dp/B07794JYLJ I have it since a few months now and I'm quite pleased with it. It also works as Gsync compatible monitor.

So before I wait for BF, the link on Office Depot says G24C and post lists is under MAG24C - just want to make sure that its the same monitor. Listed as 2 separate options on amazon:

[EDITED]

The one listed currently for the OD BF sale is actually SVA panel (similar to TN) instead of VA

It’s 1080p 144hz curved, and 1ms response time

So I recently got a new monitor, An MSI 24” curved monitor.. MSI Full HD FreeSync Gaming Monitor 24" Curved Non-Glare 1ms LED Wide Screen 1920 x 1080 144Hz Refresh Rate (Optix MAG24C) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07794JYLJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_0ZzRBbDKKJX00 (I’m on mobile so I hope this link works. Sorry) I feel as though I’m getting a grainy feel on the screen. It also feels sorta dark, as if it’s not a very crisp picture. Even when not playing games. I know my GPU is hot garbage, a 760, but I don’t think that’d affect things like pictures for wallpapers etc.

I’ve turned brightness and contrast on my monitor all the way up. I’m not sure what else to try. I plan on getting a 1070 or better GPU for Christmas so maybe I’ll just have to wait. Any suggestions? Thanks

u/frisbii · 1 pointr/buildapc

I'm looking for a 1080p 144hz monitor (with freesync if possible) for $300 or less. I've been looking at the MSI Optix MAG24C but my friend told me not to because it was a bad deal. Are there any other cheaper monitors like the Optix, preferrably with short bezels?

u/jojomexi · 1 pointr/nvidia

Closest I could find with given specs:
Dell Gaming Monitor S2417DG YNY1D 24-Inch Screen LED-Lit TN with G-SYNC, QHD 2560 x 1440, 165Hz Refresh Rate, 1ms Response Time, 16:9 Aspect Ratio https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01IOO4SGK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_hJiiDbXHW5V5R

I would echo others that 1440 on 24 is a waste. I’ve been reading around for awhile, as I will be upgrading everything eventually. I tried to do some quick research since I don’t look for 24” often, and it’s a bit hard to find one that is both 1080/144 and IPS. If you are fine with going with a cheaper TN panel you should be good (narrow viewing angles).

This one here but it’s curved:
MSI Full HD FreeSync Gaming Monitor 24" Curved Non-Glare 1ms LED Wide Screen 1920 x 1080 144Hz Refresh Rate (Optix MAG24C) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07794JYLJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_KWiiDbCCTEYVP

I know you said you don’t like the size of 27, but have you looked at frameless monitors? Those cut down the bulk and can be quite aesthetically pleasing. I would go for other specs first as 1440 on a 24” will needlessly bump up your cost. 1080/144, freesync, at least 1 DisplayPort (Nvidia supports freesync but only through DP, newer AMD cards support freesync through HDMI and DP). Do note, HDR is only supported on most Freesync 2 panels, which from what I’ve seen, only come on 27”+ panels.

Keep options open for adding a second panel, since the additional space is a godsend for multitasking. Higher resolution is nothing compared to two screens, even if you plan on gaming, it’s a great quality of life thing to be able to have a second panel for browsing, researching/etc.

There's this one by MSI MSI OPTIX mag42c

Did you get a good deal on your 1080 somewhere?
