I'm enjoying my MSI Enthusiastic Gaming M3 Z270 board, looks great, nice features, no unnecessary LEDs on it.

And there's always the MSI Pro Series Intel Z270 if you want to save a few bucks.

I have received all of the parts for my new pc, I plan to begin building it tonight however my graphics card GTX 1080 will not arrive until tomorrow. Can anyone tell me if my motherboard had an on board graphics card making it possible for me too install and configuring Windows tonight, without the GTX 1080 installed?

MSI Z270-A PRO SDRAM Motherboard

That's what I figured, going to be a fun time telling him he bought the wrong kind of ram.

Hey guys, asking here just to be sure. I'm about to upgrade my processor but in order to do that i need to upgrade my motherboard and my question simply is do these parts work with each other?

2nd question: Can i have only one stick of 8gb ram on it or do i need 2x8gb ? (Money's tight at the moment and i feel like i really don't need more ram than 8 gb since the only game i play is csgo)

I love people making up numbers. Want some real numbers?

That's 195+114+23 (Ssd price)=332, not 440. You can find cases for basically free, I've found some people just don't want anymore for $1. You can find the 980 for $175 if you look for actually good deals. I'm just going to repurpose the rest of your numbers for RAM and a psu. 195+114+23+110+175+30+1=648. And you do realize I'm just trying to make a system that works right now right? It would be easy to get a better psu later.

I'm trying to figure out why one motherboard that is compatible with all the parts I need is 100ish dollars, while another is 200ish dollars. Am I paying more for stylistic / modding advantages? or is there a large difference in performance?

The parts in question

Trying to decide since I am building around a intel 7700k processor.

Thank you for your time.

This is a link to my MOBO. I know technically I shouldn't be probably doing this myself without someone who knows what they are doing helping me, however, I need to learn. Do you know typically where the MOBO fan hookups are are what they normally indicate? I know its usually a 3 or 4 pin connector.

Only a very small number of motherboard support 7, but here are a few options. One supports 7; the rest support 6. Make sure they are compatible with your CPU (it is easier to pick the motherboard before picking the CPU. Just get the cheapest CPU you can that fits in the motherboard for less than $50):

Here's my quick build on it, not perusing for price savings. I could probably shave a few hundred off (i.e. going for air cooling instead of liquid), but if I were going to build one for me, this is how I'd do it. Cost ended up being about on par (~$2,850) for a more powerful machine (GTX1080 > Radeon Pro 580)

Case - $49.99

CPU - $295.00

Motherboard - $114.99

RAM - $126.99

PSU - $129.67

GPU - $576.62

Storage - $139.50

Liquid cooling - $107.99

Display - $1,299.99

Total:
$2840.74

Ways to shave some off -
Look at other monitors, I didn't really hunt too much here as I'm not an expert in that field, so I just looked for a "true" color 5k. I think HP's would fit that bill at around $900 (so $400 cheaper), but I could be wrong, so I went with the more pricey one.

Go with the GTX1070 (saves about $100) or the GTX1060 (saves about $300).

Nix liquid cooling and just go with air cooled (save $107.99)

Which puts a "budget" build of this at ~$2,400, $2,000 if the HP monitor works. Plus, since it's all on Amazon, if you have their store card, -5%, so, that puts us at ~$2280 (-400 if the HP monitor fits the bill) for the budget build and $2,698.70 (-400 if the HP monitor counts) for how I'd actually build it if I were doing it for me.
