Fair enough - don't expect anyone to be a diagnostician but some level of preparedness would help. So you want to make sure the kit is in a water tight/proof case. Ideally, it would be good to get a couple of smaller kits stored diversely - in case one becomes lost or becomes depleted. Also there are some kits that are compartmentalized into things like wound care, bleeding, etc which can be helpful rather than digging thru a ton of stuff for what you need. Personally, (I have some EMT skills) I would get a couple of basic every day kits with the usual burn cremes, oinments, bandages, gause and antiseptics and then get a serious trauma kit--with all the bells and whistles of a stethoscope, pulse ox, trauma dressings, air way kit, and some halo dressings...ideally if you can add some medications - like general antibiotics ranges, that can be helpful to have as well. Most kits don't seem to care about dental injuries so you may wish to suppliment them with some clove oil, emergency filling and ambisol ointments etc for any dental issues. ADVENTURE kits makes a variety of good stuff. North American Rescue is also a good provider of premade kits.
