The evidence behind both of these is good. You just gotta make sure you are sitting close enough and long enough (should be no more than a couple feet away and for about 30 min/day).

I have always struggled with sleep problems, try talking to a sleep doctor. If the doctor finds that you have a sleep disorder, that is covered by the ADA since sleep is a major life activity. Your employer must make a reasonable accommodation like flexible work hours or later shifts. (Just keep in mind that reasonable accommodation for one business may be prohibitive for another.)

I've struggled with sleep issues my whole life, too. I went to a doctor and these were her recommendations. I finally found a winning combination.

• I wear these 2 hours before bed.
  
  
• I put this on a timer so it turns on 30 minutes before I want to wake up.
  
  
• I start the sunrise feature on this light box 20-30 minutes before the above one turns on so that light isn't as jarring.
  
  
• You also need blackout blinds on any windows at night and in the morning. This blocks street light at night. Also, you get the same "dose" of light in the morning year around so you can help combat SAD.
  
  
• Exercise! Exercise, exercise, exercise. I really cannot state this enough. This book outlines why exercise is extremely helpful for ADHD, depression, and anxiety.
  
  
• Another doctor recommended buying a giant bottle of melatonin (because the amount of active chemical can vary too widely between brands and bottles) and keeping it in the freezer. Take melatonin 2 hours before bed.
  
  
• Follow good sleep hygiene. Do not bring any screen into your bedroom. No phone. No computer. No TV.
