I survived a pretty bad bedbug infestation last year and here are some tips..
Do you have a vacuum that uses a bag? If so, vacuum up all those bitches that you can find, then place the bag in a plastic bag and toss it in the dumpster. Repeat daily.
Get bedbug mattress covers, stat. You can seal those bitches in and they will die eventually. Don't just toss your mattress, just seal it and the box spring. Pillows too.
Go buy some giant Ziploc bags (the massive ones). Wash all your clothes, dry on the hottest setting for an hour, store all your shit in plastic bags.
If you can meet me in West Loop tomorrow I can give you these http://www.amazon.com/Nuvan-ProStrips-Package-Strips-Cages/dp/B0073ZOOQ6 which we found to help
Unfortunately you'll have to be patient with pest control. Our dude had to come every other week for six weeks. We never saw another bug after the 4th week.
Also, r/bedbugs
Nuvan Prostrips are what you want for infested electronics. It’s what the pros use. Bedbugs, roaches, etc. Seal the console in a air tight trash bag with one of these fora length of time and it will kill any bugs. For bedbugs, you can also seal the stuff in a large black trash bag and place it indirect sunlight for several hours. The heat kills them. https://www.amazon.com/Nuvan-ProStrips-Package-Strips-Cages/dp/B0073ZOOQ6
If you do need to purify the beds, Nuvan ProStrips seem like a well-regarded product that might be good for that use case.
This is still super expensive.
Just get some plastic contractor bags and DDVP strips. Make sure it's AIR TIGHT, leave a strip in each bag.
Don't open the bags for as long as humanly possible, preferably 2 months. At 2 weeks it should be good, but the longer the better.
there is a lot of mis information out there. https://www.epa.gov/bedbugs is pretty good. i wasted a lot of money and effort. people say DE is good but you want 100% silica powder like this and these strips. the powder put all over. then put all your shit in plastic tubs with one of those strips. as you put stuff into tubs clean it with rubbing alcohol. its a metric fuck ton of work, but it can be done.
