You can find it refurbished from Amazon for $169 which would be a little better than used Amazon Link
Actually it's this thing, at least, that's the one I have. I got it for free so I never even had to consider a Steam Link, but looking at the differences, the Nvidia Shield is running Android TV so you get movie streaming and Android gaming on top of streaming. For the streaming itself, there's not much difference at all, so Steam Link might be a good purchase if you only want to stream games. I haven't used one personally though. Maybe the Steam Link only supports up to 1080p, while the Shield supports 4K? That's what it looks like to me.

Well... somewhat true. Sony is Android TV plus some stuff that only works on Sony Android. I get your point, but isn't everything "Chinese" today? :)
