Spring collars suck. I usually scope out the gym for one of the handful of good pairs. Although I'm considering just bringing my own because I'm tired of searching for the good ones....
Lock-Jaw Collars are good.
Muscle Clamps are good.
Quickie Collars work too, they just take some getting used to because they're different. Or maybe it's just me and it took me a while to figure out how they worked...
They're a lot more expensive, but I prefer the Muscle Clamps, so much smoother and easier to use:
