Not only does is sound great (and better than my old JBL flip) and its splash resistant and no joke the battery lasts over 15 hours continuous play. I've owned it for three months now and I can count on one hand the number of times I've had to charge it.

I picked up this Cambridge Sound Works speaker and it's got good sound and pretty damned good battery life
Then look at this one. I use it as a truck speaker for LMTVs and we can easily hear it over engine and road noise, so it will probably fill your needs.
Small with about the best sound quality ive heard in that size. Great bargain IMO.

I wouldnt buy a bluetooth speaker over $100 in general. Its diminishing returns. But id rather buy a shelf unit that has bluetooth if you dont need portability. A decent shelf unit will beat any bluetooth speaker there is.
I recently bought this. It was much more solid than I expected. Has given me 0 trouble. Works great. Sounds great (to my non-audiophile ears), was inexpensive, and waterproof. I take it in the shower every morning. Not sure if it is buy-it-for-life but I've been very happy with it. Much higher quality than expected. I recommend it.

Decent sound 32 hour battery life. If you have Amazon Prime it's a great price for a solid speaker. Use it at work with water hitting it constantly. Used it for ~ a year no problems.

After spending hours reading about speakers and getting nowhere, I now request fellow Redditors to help me make a wise decision about the best value for money wireless speaker. Here's what I'm looking for in a speaker:
Budget: $150 (can stretch it to $175 if there's something really amazing out there but lesser is better).
So far, here's what my shortlist looks like:
I loved Sonos a lot but unfortunately they don't deal well with water, can't be taken outdoors (if I'm correct) and need to be connected to a power source all the time.
