I really like the look of this Orient Bambino with the Roman numerals, cream dial and blue hands. Are there any other automatics in that that price area with a similar vintage look worth considering? Date isn't necessary, but I do like roman numerals/bars/dots and the 1930/1940 somewhat dressy vibe of the watch.

Also, any recommended durable (for hiking) field watches (Day/Date/Quartz)? I have a Weekender chronograph but it seems fragile and I don't know if it has any WR.

Not quartz but I think this Orient Bambino checks the rest of your boxes. And at $150 you get a lot of watch.

Edit: btw your Timex link doesn't exist

Orient Bambino (Make sure to check out the variations as well)

An Orient Bambino might be much lower than the price point you are looking for, but it's one simply classy, automatic watch.

I'm looking for something similar to the [Orient bambino] (https://www.amazon.com/Orient-Bambino-Japanese-Automatic-Stainless/dp/B01MTS5BFN/ref=cts_wa_2_vtp), my wrists are quite thin and I'm not sure it would fit me, hence why I'm looking for alternatives.

Casio Sapphire LTP - has the benefits of a quartz watch with a dressy, minimalistic style and even has a sapphire crystal which provides much more scratch resistance over mineral glass.

Orient Bambino - There are many versions of the Bambino (my favourites being the gen 2 version 2 and the gen 2 version 1) available. These sport automatic movements over quartz movements, but they are so classy and are very versatile.

Seiko SNE039 - Not a commonly recommended watch, but this Seiko has the benefit of a quartz movement, and charges via solar energy. You can't get more versatile than black on steel.

Edit: Rather than looking for a watch that comes with a leather strap, buy a watch that suits you perfectly, and then buy a leather strap separately. You can swap the strap out yourself, or go to a local watch maker or jeweler and they could probably do it for you.

So I've narrowed my list down, and have decided on the Orient Bambino. It's not quite minimalist as I typically think of it, but it's automatic and I quite like the look of it. Deciding between these two:
One
Two

Thanks so much for all of your input, you really helped me understand what I'm looking for.

Yes and no. For the money it is hard to beat, however are probably better options. The original band would need to be switched out, but at 17mm, very hard to find a "decent" new one, and in my opinion throws off the proportions of the piece. I find it difficult to wear outside of "dressy" situations and wear other watches more regularly due to that.

Had I known what I do now back when I bought it, I would go more towards an Orient Bambino Japanese if you're looking around in that brand.

TL;DR Nice watch, 17mm strap, much better options out there

Is this it?

Hello everyone!

A little backstory: This is my first time selling watches in this sub, so please let me know if I am doing anything wrong. I got into watches late last year, and quickly expanded my collection. However, I have realized that I am really a 2 watch guy as far as mechanical watches go. I really do love all of these watches, but in the end I decided to keep my SARB033. As for the second mechanical watch, I am eyeing the BB58 but those are hard to come by.

Anyways, my goal here is to simply break even on all of these watches except the Bambino (asking $100 instead of $130) since they have all been purchased within the last year and have not seen much wrist time in comparison to my SARB033

This also comes with a Clockwork Synergy 2-piece heavy NATO. I like the two piece on this one because you get to still see that awesome movement thru the display case.

Vero Automatic LE limited edition (only 33 made) ($1180 NET) SOLD

This comes with the original 2 worn and wound straps. This was the watch that was hardest to decide to sell. It offers so much for the price (US made (Portland company), boxed sapphire, 100m water resistance, regulated in 6 positions, blued screws and excellent proportions for smaller wrists), and not to mention its a limited edition. But in the end, the SARB033 won out for me.

This seems like it would be the right size, but I don't like the strap. Is it a pain to change the strap? Is it a shame to change it on a brand new watch?

I like this version better but can't find it.

Could someone recommend a watch that would match a light grey suit? I was thinking something like this potentially

u/TavNam · 1 pointr/Watches

I was looking into a budget, minimalist dress watches and was thinking of going along with the Bambino line. Am torn between A and B. I think the former looks cleaner but possibly a bit boring?

Happy to have someone weigh in (I understand that it all boils down to personal preference, but still...).

Also open to any other similar recs at the same price range (around 150 USD)
