I just did Paris in August. I ended up doing one of those chained wallets inside my pacsafe bag. Like this one:

I just clipped it to the d-ring inside the bag and I didn't have to worry about someone trying to walk off with it. It's kind of clunky and definitely NOT something you would want to carry in a pocket but I thought it worked well inside my bag.
