A PS4 Pro is $400 brand new, and a slim is $300. Slim bundles (including a game) are usually $250.

Yes, a Bundle is cheaper than the base unit, which is a bit of a trend with PlayStation. In fact, you can pick up a VR starter bundle (including the headset, camera, move controllers, and a game) right now for less than $300. Meaning, you could have a PS4+Controller, a full PSVR kit, and two games for less than $600. This is all with NEW parts, so buying used could actually get you all of that for less than a single brand-new Pro.

Consoles are only as expensive as people make them to be. Just like with PC’s, if you know what you’re doing, you can save a lot of money.

Plus, the belief that PS4 games are expensive tends to be an unfounded stigma. Right now, Beat Saber is $30 on PSN... and $30 on Steam. Also keep in mind that things like Summer Sales and Black Friday sales apply to both Steam AND PSN.

Now sure, you still need to pay for PS+ to play online, but A: you get two games per month for free, B: if you do the $60/year plan that only comes to about $5/month, and C: you get even bigger discounts with it than standard. PS+ can save you more money with it than what you may pay without it.

So again. For some people, playing on a console is what they can afford, and no one should be telling them that they “made the wrong choice.”
