Link seems to be problematic (page formatting is messed up for me) so here's a link that should work

roughly $28-40 + possible shipping depending on the seller.

How does this compare to the PNY XLR8? (not the pro). I just bout the PNY a couple days ago on sale from newegg for 119 and just wondering if its worth it to return that and get this for cheaper? or if the PNY is actually better.

Edit: i bought the 240GB, even though the link is to the 120GB.

I don't know much about SSDs but I put together a pretty cool computer and I use a PNY 120 GB I got for around 70$

My computer boots up in seconds, it's awesome.

Looks pretty good, but the PSU is certainly overkill for this build. For more balance, you should probably pick up a gtx 660 or a 7870 for the price of a 750Ti (plus the money you save on the PSU)
Edit: shave a few dollars off with this ssd.
Edit: Looks like you can get way more for your money

I have ideapad y410p. I've been thinking of replacing my 1 TB HD to an SDD as main os then use 1 TB as storage. The hard drive will replace the ultrabay dvd drive with an ultrabay HD caddy.

Should I get a 120gb PNY or 120gb Samsung EVO as my first ssd?
Samsung EVO is 90 dollars while PNY is around 65 dollars (don't wanna deal with MIR). I heard mixed performance on both ssd's, now I am unsure. Is it worth getting ssd or should I wait?

The PNY XLR8 120 GB and 240 GB aren't bad deals. The 1 TB Seagate Barracuda's isn't bad either.

I forgot about noise. I don't think it will be intrusive. It depends on the case a lot. I've heard the 5400 RPM drive in my DVR before but never noticed the 7200 RPM drive in my HTPC (old small form factor optiplex). I assume it's both because of the way they're situated and the thin metal casing of the DVR.

A thumb drive has a faster seek time than a hard drive but a much lower sustained transfer speed. Ultimately it would be better to just use the 5400RPM drive as your boot drive than it would be to use a thumb drive.

If you wanted to have the quietest system you could, but still needed the space you could go for the 5400 RPM drive and a SSD. A 32gb-120gb SSD will run you from $40-$65. (ADATA SP600 (or similar) for the 32GB/64GB or the higher-end PNY XLR8 for the 120GB.) The XLR8 has one of the lowest price/GB of the 120/128GB drives; makes it almost not worth it to consider smaller SSDs.

Then again, an SSD would be an added expense when you were looking to reduce the price. It's really not too critical; i don't imagine any of these options (7200RPM, 5400RPM, 5400RPM+SSD) would feel like a mistake after you went through with them.
