Here are the accessories I got to go with my SL3, they all have worked well for me:

  • Anker 7 port USB-C dock
    • 2xUSB-A (3.0), Ethernet, usb-c power, SD, microSD, HDMI (1440p@60hz)
      > Dock draws 12W of power, so I recommend using this as a home dock that is plugged in all of the time
  • Anker 5 port USB-C adapter
    • 2xUSB-A (3.0), SD, microSD, HDMI (1440p@60hz)
      > This dock has no power draw overhead, so I use it for travel. It also doesn't have power pass through or ethernet
  • 6 foot usb-c to usb-c power cable
    > Slow data speed - is only meant as a charging cable
  • 61W GaN power adapter
    • Takes advantage of gallium nitride so it is small compared to normal charger
    • Being 61W it takes advantage of the quick-charge that the SL3 battery is capable of
      > It is still a little bit slower to charge than the OEM 65W charger
  • 20Ah 45W power bank
    • Gets me about a full charge
    • Charges at 25W
    • Outputs 45W so it charges relatively quickly, albeit not quick-charge speeds

USB to USB-C? That's most likely for phones; it won't charge because it won't be able to get enough power from the power bank.

You'll need something that has at least a USB-C to USB-C output with Power Delivery (PD) to be able to start charging. Something that outputs at least 45W should start you off, like this.

I have a MBP 15" 2017, I use my ZMI power bank to charge on the plane but because it only outputs at 45W, it's very slow to charge.

I use this with my XPS13, from 5% to fully charged battery there is still about 1/4 left on the portable battery.

That's a pretty sweet looking laptop. It appears the 4k screen uses a bit more battery than the standard HD. Other than that, there are just the regular suggestions of using "Power Saver" mode in windows, turning down the brightness, etc.

I do think the battery bank method is the way to go. Since you laptop uses USB-C, this battery bank is probably a good solution, and it's only $50.

Make sure to get a battery bank that doesn't just have USB-C output, but also has USB-C PD (Power Delivery). That's the standard that supports high wattage output, which laptops tend to like.

I just pulled the trigger on this powerbank . Will try to remember to keep you posted since it was so painful finding the right information on portable chargers

I’ve been using this RAVPower to charge my Surface Pro 6 and Surface Pro X.
