Yep, here you go OP it's cheaper on Amazon anyway.

That's a helluva lot of money to spend on a membrane keyboard. With that budget you could easily go for a mechanical keyboard: Razer Blackwidow Ultimate if you need macros, backlighting, etc; Filco Majestouch 2 if you just need a good keyboard. Advantages of a mechanical include longevity, reduction in effort to type/game, and the pleasure of having a click-clack sound (depending on the switch type) with each keypress. Check out /r/keyboards, they have a lot of information on some really good keyboards.

Otherwise great build!

Hey don't sweat it, there really is not that much that can go wrong.

My keyboard is a Razer Blackwidow Ultimate, so far i'm loving it!

Here is a good guide to follow when building your first PC

It's a razer blackwidow 2013. It weighs 5.3 pounds which is a good 2 pounds heavier than most other mechanical keyboards.

Do you mean this one?

It looks really nice, I'm considering getting it. I've been using a cheap $15 keyboard from Walmart for years, even though I have a nice gaming rig in general.

Dude, my friend plays the shit out of Paragon and he'd love this. Entering.

If you're looking for accessories http://www.amazon.com/Razer-Blackwidow-Ultimate-Mechanical-RZ03-00381900-R3U1/dp/B008U5ZNIG/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1368299765&sr=8-5&keywords=mechanical+keyboard this might be worth looking at , I have used it before and LOVE it. I know you already said you had one but take a look.

In regards to other stuff do you want novelty or function?

a new keyboard. My old one is dying a slow and ugly death. The space bar doesn't work sometimes, the keys are fading. My son has poured sand all over it and it hasn't been the same. I've owned it for four years and it's had a good life, but this generic Dell keyboard has seen some better days.

I have the Corsair K70 [non RGB] with Cherry MX red switches. If I were you I'd get a K70. My friend has the Razer Blackwidow with the custom Razer green switches. He loves it.

Before you buy a mechanical keyboard tho. You really need to try out each switch. You could either buy one of these to test it out, or you can go to a local computer store that has keyboards on show.
If you end up buying a mechanical keyboard without testing the switches out first. You may end up hating your keyboard.
Most people like the MX blues [the clicky ones].

I like the MX reds though because you can't feel a bump when you push down a key, and because they are pretty quiet [unless you bash your keyboard]

There are lots of mechanical keyboards on the market. You could go all out and get a Ducky keyboard or get a pretty cheap one like this one

If you want macros then you can go for a Corsair K95 which has 18 macro keys. If you want less macros then you can go for the Logitech G710+ which has 6 macros.

Just remember to try out each MX switch, and you should be good.

Keyboard: Razer Blackwidow Ultimate

Mouse: Razer Deathadder 2014

Headset: Astro A40

Just ask away if you want a quick review of those.

> "Razer’s BlackWidow and BlackWidow Ultimate are produced by iOne who also produces the XArmor line of mechanical keyboards." http://www.pcper.com/reviews/General-Tech/Razer-BlackWidow-Ultimate-Mechanical-Keyboard-Review-Mechanically-superior-Just

I know this to be true. When I said "Prove it" I was referring to the questionable build quality of iOne. I have never heard this, though it very well may be true.

A few things:

  • I can just as easily link the 5-star reviews to give someone the exact opposite impression. A more important point is average review score. The BWU has a 4/5 over hundreds of reviews.

  • I should clarify I am talking about the BWU 2013 Elite, their latest. The average review score is 4/5 with over a hundred reviews.

I do apologize for the miscommunication, but the BWU 2013 has a few differences. The finish is completely matte, and the LED's are now green instead of blue. I cannot say for the build quality differences between these two, but I can say that this keyboard weighs a hefty amount (~5 pounds) and is definitely the most solid keyboard I have ever picked up. I have never personally used a Filco.

As for why that Filco is less expensive, one of the main reasons I see that would constitute a price variance is the Filco you linked is a TKL board. Another would be that the "New Prices" for the BWU you linked are not from Amazon, as they no longer stock it. The BWU 2013 is cheaper than the Filco you linked by $10 - and it even has more keys.

I guess there might not be that many people who have experienced the BWU 2013 yet, but it's been a fantastic keyboard to me. Thoughts?
