You could put a grill / pan in your car and get a heatpack cooker going.

Most current electric stoves use 2,100 watts per 8 inch coil for comparison. You could lower the wattage needed by increasing warmup time, reducing the surface area to heat, or likely both. You'd be much better off using something like this 12v frying pan or this 12v portable stove.

what do you mean?

Your car battery is a 12 volt DC battery while your house outlet is either 120 or 240 volts AC. This means that a regular grill could never work off your car without an expensive inverter (it would have to be expensive because you cant just use a cheap 10 watt one either). You would need to buy a 12 volt grill, which will probably come with a car cigarette lighter adapter.

If you want to go all out red neck you can wire it up in you car. This may actually be safer as you can use larger gauge wires that are safer for a higher watt load. This is probably not need unless you want to run a +100 watt system (i recommend against that).

Here is a $35 12 volt fry pan that I found on amazon. It can handle eggs and bacon (dont cook bacon in a car dude). There is also a 12v pot, why dont you just make a kitchen in your trunk.

If you ever cook anything with fat in it (a couple of eggs are fine, but any fatty meats), you should open the sunroof and crank up the ac/heat fan to give circulation.

The issue isn't with the power draw, it takes a long fucking time to cook anything. A lot of people said it does work but takes half an hour to boil a cup of water.

Edit: to everyone down voting agreeing that 170 w consumption = 170w of heat needs to think of their computers. Processors do not run at 200+ watts but easily reach those temps.
