Ableton user here and I agree, it's crazy that this is a thing. Also just in general a noisy headphone amp sucks, coming from a MacBook Pro with a clean amp.

ASIO4ALL might work, I have it installed but haven't seen if it fixed the issue. Like Speedy said, it makes ableton the only app to play audio through the device, so no switching quickly between apps to listen to something else.


I have this dac and headphone amp. Sounds great and it's small enough to travel with.
