I did exactly this for my Clownshoes and snowcats. Using tape just like this: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ICWRLGE/ 2" wide just baaarely fits in the Clownshoes. Had to trim the width down for the snowcats.
I got 15ft per bike with maybe 2 feet leftover each. The local fire/safety store sells the stuff by the foot and it came in blue, yellow, red, alternating red/white and of course, white.
It does not stretch.
lol, no kidding... 'diamond grade sheeting', i bet you need tin-snips to cut it too....
still, i'd like to buy a roll of the 2nd-highest stuff to put in a few place on my bike.
actually, buying a little of the diamond grade stuff to put over existing reflectors (like in your forks) may not be a horrible idea as well....
