They're not lying when they say this can hit 1500MB/s. Whatever extra speed Apple has over it, if any, it is in no way worth the price difference. They charge more, a lot more, for an upgrade from 128GB to 256GB than that entire 250GB drive costs.

But Apple always charge an arm, a leg, and a kidney for storage and RAM upgrades. Been that way as long as I can remember.

Edit: What they're charging for RAM is even more egregious.

Edit 2: Looking at benchmarks, https://www.scan.co.uk/products/500gb-samsung-970-evo-m2-2280-pcie-30-x4-nvme-ssd-phoenix-mlc-v-nand-3400mb-s-read-2300mb-s-write-37 that one is probably a better comparison. Notice: much bigger, much cheaper, and that's at consumer pricing.

Merita si cel de 250 si cel de 500. (106 si 165) + transport, daca ai slot m2. Exista si adaptoare. Garantia e la samsung, deci se rezolva in tara. Vreau sa il iau pe cel de 500 asa ca il tot urmaresc, sa vad cand am bani de aruncat.

ciao, butto qui un paio di domande, se possibile, senza aprire un thread

ho preso un nuovo portatile ma che monta solo un hdd meccanico e arriverà in settimana. Ho letto e visto da altri modelli di laptop che la scheda madre può accogliere un altro hd nella slot pcie di tipo m.2, tipo questo che è un nvme.

Ora, premesso che a quanto leggo le prestazioni schizzerebbero con l'aggiunta di questo hd, nella pratica come è meglio comportarsi una volta preso? Devo clonare il SO in questo e formattare l'hdd? (Immagino di sì) Per il solo SO 250gb è troppo? Come faccio a portare solo il SO e lasciare il resto sul vecchio hd? Consigliate un programma free e semplice per clonare? Il modello linkato sopra è giusto? Boh, sbizzarritevi. Grazie

edit: ma soprattutto troppe pippe e mi prendo un sata risparmiando un po'?

Terrei in considerazione la possibilità di sostituire l'SSD sata con uno m.2 NVME (pci express), ancora più veloce di quello che haipreso e usa 0 cavi (esempio: link)

Oppure lo puoi anche aggiungere, magari un 256gb come disco di sistema.

E mi accodo a chi ha detto di usare la connessione cablata. Un cavo piatto da 30metri che passa per la porta e si nasconde bene è infinitamente meglio del wifi, ma anche Powerline per esperienza funziona molto bene.

Used would definitely be an option for the GPU that you will want to explore. Just keep an eye on shopping sites and try to find a cheap 9 series card.

Also, your motherboard does feature an M.2 slot for an interesting ssd solution. If you are paying $100 for 250gb anyway, you might as well go for an M.2 option. Some 250 NVMe ssds even come in at around that price. Se non ci si deve giocare (ma tanto con portatile da 500 euro non giochi in ogni caso), ti segnalo il Dell 5570: Core i5 ottava generazione, 8GB RAM, ma soprattutto ha una cosa interessante: lo slot per SSD di tipo M2: con 100 euro gli schiaffi su un EVO960 da 250GB così ti fai una macchina con sistema e app su SSD e un buono spazio per archiviare dati su HDD (1TB).

Unico difetto: aprirlo è un po' una rottura di cazzo, bisogna levare la parte sopra dello chassis che è un plasticone a incastro.. Shame on you Dell.. ma a quel prezzo in effetti non puoi avere tutto
