You can get the adapter by itself from here

and here's a very high rated option comes with 2x 8gb micro sd cards and a micro sd to sd adapter

Getting one of these for my PSP was one of the best decisions I ever made for it when I started modding it.

It's worth so much more than it costs in entertainment value alone.

I hope you didn't buy a pro duo yet, DEFINITELY get one of these badboys instead

You're doing it correctly.

  1. The only problems with the bigger storage is that it will have a slightly slower XMB startup time. This will not effect in-game speed.

  2. Yes. I am using one with a single Micro SD card and it works. Just remember that you will need to reformat it if you add another card.

  3. The biggest storage capacity is not 32GB. I have a 64GB card and it works completely.

This is the Micro SD I'm using:

This is the adapter I'm using:

If it says pro-c in the system information after turning the system on (not from sleep mode) then it's permanent.

What the CFW does is allow you to use homebrew apps and games as well as pirated games (which is obviously not condoned, but who listens to us?) There should be instructions online on how to put homebrew apps and games on the PSP. Last i done it, it was a basic drag and drop between folders.

As for the memory you can use any Pro-Duo if it's a PSP and M2 if it's a PSP Go. There's also Pro-Duo adapters that allow you to use 2 MicroSD cards in it. Probably the best way to go since the max Pro-Duo card out there, I believe, is 32GB.

Something like this to allow you to make as big a card as you want (I think the system will eventually cap at 2 tb) (Don't have to get from amazon) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B6DYDZS/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=A10DOK4YS4HTMF&psc=1

You'll need a specific set of files with a specific set of skills to make it all go down, there is lots of info throughout the sub.

Good Luck!

I bought one of these. Haven't had any problems with it so far. Amazon Link

  1. Sure. Look up a YouTube video. Cool custom housing options are available.

  2. Not sure about this as I own a 1000 and have actually never held a 3000. Regardless, there isn't much you can do about it.

  3. You could try this. It would allow the PSP to see both memory cards as one.

  4. I think that's a game dependant thing. Pretty sure the PSP digital Store has been closed though.

  5. I've never bothered with one. I just use the official little pouch thing.

SD Cards work great, and like normal.
I like this adapter, it fits perfectly in the memory stick slot, unlike some others which stick out ever so slightly.

Just make sure you get real ;) SD Cards, that are Class 10. I'd use Amazon for that too.

On a side note, you could use this $6 adapter.

When it read the 27GB was that with the 32GB card or a 64GB card?

Yeah it may be a dud. I've never owned a Cr5400, just generic ones, but it's possible to exceed 64 GBs, I myself have dual 128GB cards working. Here's the adapter I'm currently using.

Also here's my general spiel on adapters:

  • To get the PSP to recognize two cards: format both cards in the adapter with the PSP ('System Settings'/'Format Memory Stick'), then swap the cards and format again (may require one more swap and format).

  • After loading files onto the cards, don't swap them as you could corrupt your data.

  • You won't have the advertised speeds of the mSD cards while transferring via the PSP (It'll most likely cap around 6-7 mbps).

  • You may want to buy more than one adapter since they break easily.

  • You'll experience slow down when booting up or opening large folders (the larger the card(s) the longer the boot up) [NOTE- you won't experience slow down when booting or running games]. Additionally you'll experience slowdown when booting up Homebrew that looks at the entire PSP directory (e.g. PSP Filer).

To help mitigate boot up time, go to the 'recovery menu'/'configuration' and enable 'hide pic0 & pic1.png'. Additionally try using GamesCatagoryLite and go to 'system settings'/'Catagory mode' and change it to contextual.

What you need is one of the Memory Stick Duo Adapters. Cheap, and you can put cheap micro SD cards into them.

  • IIRC, there's a save file on gamefaqs.com that has SOTN already enabled for you.
  • Depending on your PSP version, the hardware will run CFW in memory (launched every time you power cycle) or permanently (hack it once and done).
  • You can get a nifty microSD to Pro Duo adapter that will dramatically increase your storage size.
u/vipertongn · 1 pointr/PSP

how did you increase the memory to 256gb?

Lol i actually found one of your threads on it. I'm curious when people say to format it, but am finding some posts stating you shouldn't format the sd cards on their own. I noticed someone said it's better to format the disks on their own because the psp will tremendously limit the amount of space you'll get. So how should I format it? And what to? are there any particular microsd cards I should purchase?

EDIT:

I found this explanation, let me know if it's missing anything:
https://www.reddit.com/r/PSP/comments/18s3yu/32_gb_microsd_card_with_adapter_not_formatting_on/c8hkghn

Would this work:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B6DYDZS/ref=pd_cp_107_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=2N0EZ57B9FPH7ZV70TSH

and with this (I actually found like a couple unopened boxes laying around in the house but I'm unsure if psp's require certain sd cards or not):

https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-microSDHC-Standard-Packaging-SDSQUNC-032G-GN6MA/dp/B010Q57T02/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1474339677&sr=8-1&keywords=sandisk+ultra+micro+32

Finally...which cfw should I get? the latest 6.61? I ended up getting a psp 2000 for free from a friend

u/treefiddylq · 1 pointr/vita

Since you've already decided, consider one of these adapters:

http://www.amazon.com/SANOXY%C2%AE-MicroSD-Converts-MicroSDHC-Packaged/dp/B00B6DYDZS

http://www.amazon.com/Micro-Memory-Reader-Adapter-Converter/dp/B00BG5FTRM

I have the first one linked and it works, but it's also a little slower than an official Pro Duo. The upside is you can get a ton of space for really cheap using the adapters.

u/thee_i_cast_aside · 1 pointr/PSP

Never heard of a cr5400 but I believe you

This is the mod I'm talking about.

u/capn_slendy · 1 pointr/PSP

This and two of the 32gb cards would give you 64gb of storage.

u/Blitzed97 · 1 pointr/PSP

Went on amazon, the white adapter is an add on item, meaning they will ship only with orders over 25 Dollars, but you can find others that will ship by itself just fine, I got the black one, it's 5.50, I just bought two 64 GB Micro SD cards with it and it shipped with them.

Search Micro SD dual Adapter, It comes in black and white.

Edit: Here's the one I got
