Sea to Summit Duffle. I have a North Face Base Camp and a Patagonia Black Hole and this bag easily wins out IMO. It wasn't even on my radar until earlier this week. But after checking it out in a store the other day I immediately ordered one. Don't be fooled by all of their other ultra-light products, this is just as burly as the Base Camp but with a far better strap setup (check out the youtube link) and better (lockable) dual track zippers. Only downside is the lack of external organization pockets, which doesn't bother me much on this type of bag.
While the Base Camp, albeit a great bag, is over shadowed by the Sea to Summit which IMO fills the same niche only better. The Black Hole is still a great option if you're fine trading a bit of durability for weight savings, however the straps aren't quite as nice as the Sea to Summit and it doesn't offer a shoulder carry configuration.
I recommend the 45L to be carry-on legal although there are reviews reporting that people have carried on the 65L just fine despite technically being oversized. Red 45L is on sale at amazon for $90 currently. The 65L will run you full retail at $140.
