This.
Or this.
It doesn't look like your power supply is modular because those Corsair PSUs use ribbon type cables.
These types of cable adapters are usually frowned upon. They tend to be very cheap in quality and have been known to start fires. Many people buy a power supply designed with at least two 6+2 pin PCIE power cables instead of using cable adapters.
Consider this.
In terms of pure specs, it's overpriced for a GTX 1060 system. But that is subjective since it seems you had nicer components which could warrant a higher price especially that sweet sweet RGB.
i5 8400 for $180
Motherboard for $108
Your RAM is wayyyyy over priced. The same set on Newegg for $180
your PSU is kinda overkill and overpriced also... A better PSU you should have gotten for $50 less
EDIT: I skipped over GPU, your paying $200 over MSRP which is at GTX 1070/1080 prices
Oh, my bad. That's a great PSU, of course.
Here is another.

You can blindly choose either of them.
X is Tier 1. The G 650 is tier 2. Both are excellent quality product. I thought I would mention the later in case of unavailability and price since the higher end model, which is costlier than the G version, is selling for 3-4k less. Weird.
Just a reminder: PSUs with Active PFC or APFC might create some incompatibility issue with some UPS. But don't worry too much about that.
which M12II evo ? 520/620/750/850 ?
@85 euro you can get XFX XTR 550W , built by seasonic
The XTR is one of the highest quality units you can get , also has a hybrid fan mode , full modular and higher efficiency (less power lost = less heat and electricity costs) .
For 5 euro more you can get Seasonic G 650W however this unit is semi-modular .
All the units listed above is from Seasonic which is one of the best PSU manufacturers in terms of quality and these units has 5 years warranty .
Don't pay over over 100 euro for evga , you have better options .
I'd get a better power supply like https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00918N4A0/?tag=pcpapi-20. The NEX series isn't too great from EVGA.
Going off of this post a couple weeks ago it seems that your PSU is nearing the typical lifespan, so I would look into getting a new one. You could be lucky and have your PSU die quietly like that person's, but I wouldn't risk it (as the capacitors are the things that go bad).
That being said I'd recommend the Seasonic G 650. It's a bit expensive, but you get gold rated efficiency, more than enough wattage for your build, excellent voltage regulation, and a newer unit (and the same brand as your current one!). It should also last you quite a while until you need to upgrade again.
Then I would replace the psu but you could keep it and try running a 1060 off it.
Something like this evga series or this seasonic series will do the job nicely.

Unless you are going with sli 770s you really don't need such an expensive and powerful psu. This psu is $50 cheaper and very high quality. Frankly you don't even need this good of a psu but it's more reasonable than an 850w
Shit, it was actually this model I was going for: http://www.amazon.com/SeaSonic-650-Watt-CrossFire-Certified-SSR-650RM/dp/B00918N4A0/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1420139169&sr=1-2&keywords=Seasonic+G+series
Damn naming schemes, I see the one on the list is not modular.
Looks like it still is. I've had good luck with SeaSonic, and picked that one because I've seen it on other builds here. Modular isn't necessity, and it looks like there is a 80 Plus Gold for a comparable cost
PSUs - this SeaSonic or this EVGA?
Would this Seasonic PSU be a good buy since I missed out on yesterday's deal? https://www.amazon.ca/SeaSonic-650-Watt-CrossFire-Certified-SSR-650RM/dp/B00918N4A0/ref=sr_1_1?rps=1&ie=UTF8&qid=1517844072&sr=8-1&keywords=seasonic+power+supply+650
I'm looking at a 1080 build.... eventually, so this seems like a good deal. I'm not sure if it being semi-modular makes a big difference?
I've tried it with multiple ports on the motherboard, multiple monitors, and multiple cables with no fix. (Both DVI and HDMI)
Unfortunately I'm not sure what CPU he used, but the RAM is this and the motherboard is this, and his PSU is this.
Watch this comparison of 3600 and 3600X. In short: No. Not worth it. Stick to 3600.
Also regarding the PSU, I am not very knowledgeable on them. It should be OK to use it, since it has 80+ Bronze efficiency. And you've already been using it without any issues right.
Just for your information, the PSU is on Tier 6 in this list, https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/631048-psu-tier-list-old/
750W should be plenty. If you do want to get another PSU, I recommend something like this Seasonic one, or the EVGA Supernova G3 If you want a fully modular one. Corsair RMx series are also fine. Personally I would just reuse the PSU you have and put that money on a decent CPU cooler from Noctua or Be quiet to overclock the 3600.
*But also I would not want to risk new hardware with old PSU so there's that. Maybe someone with more knowledge on the psu offer better advice.
In terms of 850W PSUs:
Seasonic M12II-850- 110$
EVGA G2 850- 110$ with mail-in-rebate
In terms of 650W PSUs:
Cooler Master V650- 80$ with mail-in-rebate
Rosewill Capstone 650M- 100$
Seasonic SSR650RM- 100$
be quiet! powerzone 650- 105$ --->yes, this is actually a good PSU lol.
Corsair HX650- 107$
Corsair TX650M- 110$
XFX XTR 650- 110$
This?

O, V series CoolerMaster. This is a good unit. A bit too expensive however. If you want to save some money without sacrificing quality:
Dont get that PSU.
Its complete garbage.
Get this instead: https://www.amazon.com/SeaSonic-650-Watt-CrossFire-Certified-SSR-650RM/dp/B00918N4A0/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1469613706&sr=1-2&keywords=seasonic+G
Most people here will recommend a R9 390 over the 970. The 390 is more powerful, has more than twice the vram, and AMD cards age better than Nvidia. It will also see more gains in DX12 than the 970. The only advantage the 970 has is Gameworks support. The PSU you picked out is also overkill. Anything 650 watts or higher will be more than enough. Maybe go as high as 850 if you want. Spend the extra money on an SSD if you don't already have one you plan on using. This is good choice for the price: http://www.amazon.com/SeaSonic-650-Watt-CrossFire-Certified-SSR-650RM/dp/B00918N4A0/ref=sr_1_3?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1452575990&sr=1-3&keywords=seasonic
Now for the motherboard. You will need a z97 to overclock the 4790k. Just go to whichever site you want to order from and search for "z97". There are plenty on Amazon. Anything in the $90-150 will work. I wouldn't spend more than that. The only difference between the boards will be specific features available. For example, some won't support sli/crossfire, some will support one, but not the other, and some will support both. They'll also each have a different number of usb 2 and 3 ports. Just think about what you think you'll need and pick what you'll think is best.
Um 144$ for 16GBs of DDR3 RAM? You spend about 60$ too much... And no one buys 4GB sticks nowadays... This is what you should've bought (it would even match your color theme)
The cooler is overkill for the CPU, but at least it will offer you to overclock 200MHz, and the PSU is too expensive. 550W or 650W would be enough for i5 and 970 and the price is um... a big high. Great choice for little money
The difference could've gone into 980 or 500GB SSD.
The case of course is subjective, I spent 90$ on a case once and probably would again but the 45$ difference I'd rather invest into a better GPU.
To end the post on a better note: the build does look really nice, the colors and cables and everything.
