Here are a few recommendations. I've included a few links to give you an idea of what is out there. They vary in style and price. I'd say look around online a bit for styles that you like. Pretty much any Seiko Chronograph will be much better than the watches you showed us. Citizen has a wide variety of high quality watches as well but I'm a bit less familiar with their offerings.

Description: This is probably the most tool-tastic Seiko in this price range. It offers all the features of a dive watch, and it is ISO6425 certified, but it also has a full featured chronograph, complete with screwdown locks for the pushers. A number of people are not sold on the solar movement, but it is quartz accurate and durable. The bracelet is about the best Seiko bracelet I have seen anywhere close to this price, and it has a dive extension. Some people think the bracelet should have be 22mm, but I think the 20mm helps it wear a bit smaller. There are some other models that come on rubber straps, that for some reason are way more expensive, but they have some black with yellow options.

With your budget, search on amazon for Citizen or Seiko chronographs. Do you have a preference for the band? Leather? Metal?

If you want a Chronograph, then I agree 100% - this is a great choice. It's also available in a Black Bezel

There is also an older version of their non-solar Quartz diver with a Chronograph called the SNAE25 (I don't know that I would buy this one on Amazon as it doesn't come with warranty).

If you can give up the Chronograph, then you have the Monster and Classic Divers to look at.

So you went diving with a watch that is not rated for diving. Not a big surprise it crapped out. (An easy mistake to make, watch water resistance ratings are a mess all over.)

Anyway, my recommendation for a diver chrono somewhat similar to that Fossil would be the Seiko SSC and similar solar diver chronographs from Seiko.

  Note you should take care to select a watch that is rated for "Diver's 200m", 100m is not sufficient (except for vintage divers but that's another topic).

Personally I prefer the SNE107 in this situation. I'm not really a fan of the bezel on the SCC147 and I think that divers are a more versatile in terms of wearability.

If you really like both the diver/chronograph look, why not combine the two and get a diver chronograph?
