Personally I'm a bigger fan of closed headphones (it leaks less sound out and so on).

But I would've gone for the Grado-Prestige-SR-60i or the Sennheiser HD448. I bet you could find them at a cheaper price somewhere else though. :)

How do you guys think http://amzn.to/feZ2xW would be?

I'm no expert, but it seems i the gaming community anyway, anything with the name Sennheiser on it is awesome. I prefer the open types, but they make quite a lot of noise to those around you, so if you want them to be silent get closed ones. I had expensive ones, which were frigging awesome, last year i bought the wireless model but i'm less than enthused with it, but that's a problem in genera with wireless headphones i've gathered (static noise once you crank them a bit).

Edited to add concrete link:

Here's an amazon.co.uk search for 50-100GBP sennheiser headphones

Yea I'm trying to avoid noise leakage as I share an office with my g/f, and I'm wearing these primarily so keep quiet when she's working. I don't need any noise cancellation, though. do you know anything about the 448's? I can get them through Amazon Prime for $60.

I would look at Sennheiser's. I've heard they are great for their price (Around $100 but can get up in the thousands). I wish I had some so I could give you a real recommendation but I have to wait for Christmas :\ According to friends of mine though, they do not disappoint. They seem to be on sale on Amazon a lot too.

I'm going to get these for Christmas and as you can see they are on sale and even without the sale, they're pretty decently priced and in your budget.

Hi! I'm trying to decide between the Sennheiser Momentum and beyerdynamic DT 660. I'm open to other suggestions though! I've been looking at the DT 660 for a while, but I haven't had a chance to try them out. I feel like they are pretty close to what I'm looking for, but the Momentum feels like a safer choice.

  • Budget - ~$200

  • Source - iPhone / Macbook Air

  • Requirements for Isolation - The more isolation the better. I'll be using these in mixed company, mostly at home around my girlfriend / family.

  • Preferred Type of Headphone - Over-ear

  • Preferred tonal balance - I'm looking for overall balance. Almost a flat response, but I would like some versatility (e.g. music, movies, ASMR, video games).

  • Past headphones - I've been using the Sennheiser HD448 for the past five years, Apple EarPods for the past two years, and ADDIEMs for the past six months. I like the balance on the HD448 and ADDIEMs, but the EarPods are a little bass-heavy (aside from not being very clear).

  • Preferred Music - I listen to film scores almost exclusively. Some of my favorites include 'How to Train Your Dragon' and 'Man of Steel.'

I have had a pair of Sennheiser 448s for almost two years now and they've been great so far. Is there anything I can buy as far as amps go to give myself a better setup, and should I consider listening to music differently than my current free spotify setup (for better quality) or are my headphones not good enough to make a difference in these respects?

I have these http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD448-Closed-Circumaural-Headphone/dp/B002DGTGO0/ref=pd_cp_e_1 and I love them! They're very lightweight, so it took me about a week to get used to it, but after that, I hardly notice that theyre on my head.
