The best advice that I can give you right now is that crouching is not as good as it was in CS 1.6. It was way faster and reset the crosshair faster. If you are in a close engagement just do a quick stop and aim for the head. Don't just smash the crouch button.

I have seen many mad players in GO because of this.

edit: some more tips.

Make sure you have a good headset or some in ear headphones. You can listen through walls just like in CS:S and this will help you a bunch on maps like office, dust, and nuke. You can have the jump on people that are just blindly running though the map trying to get kills.

a $5 pair of in ear headphones will give you this ablility. I have an old pair of Shure 315's that I use. headphones I have

and a nice clip on mic.

I have the same problem with any brand but SHURE. EC2's are decently priced for the bass available, and their in ear cones are really good at staying in place.

Shure E315's Great range, sound isolating, and comfortable enough to lie on my side and wear them.

Give a good set of IEMs a shot. Something like these. They stay in (via the foam sleeves) and they sound good, at least the other model I bought 5-6 years ago did.

Don't bother with OEM headphones/buds, ever.

Personally I use the SE215s and can vouch for their excellence in the sound isolation department. I reccomend you buy the SE425 and then buy a bluetooth dac. You can find one for cheaper if you cant spend that much or you can buy the SE315's. You can use your phone to control the source if your using spotify since FLAC wont really matter since your using bluetooth. The situation your in is very niche but this solution should be great for you especially since you can use these with your phone if your really need to go somewhere. Hope this works man!
