Get your mattress online! There is no reason to spend a lot of money on one, there are really comfortable high quality mattresses available for less than $500. I have this one in a full and have been really happy with it.
Probably this one. Though I'd probably recommend this one for $50 more.
Maybe it isn't full sized furniture, maybe it's just a matress on the floor like this one from amazon. Although the length would be tough with angles and stuff.
I'm no hostel owner but I bought the 12 inch version of this mattress back when it was well under $300 and I've had it for ~2.5 years with no issues. Two other people I know have bought the same one after trying it.
I was rather surprised how comfortable mine is. It has certainly been better than the mattress it replaces.
FYI, one of the reasons that memory foam mattresses can be so cheap is that they ship compressed into a roll about 16 inches in diameter.

An 8" foam mattress (Queen) is around $200. A 6" is around $150. Full would be a bit cheaper. If your parents already have a box spring/ bed frames, then this could be a nice replacement.
