I'll agree that it's still speculation.
However, the proprietary port to the left of the headphone jack appears to be the same as the Sony Walkman/Discman controllers (sorry, I can't find a picture of the port) which are used for controlling music.
We'll have to see, though. The last iteration of the controller they showed didn't have this port at all.
