It's quite easy to install on your own, I've personally had fantastic success with the Sony GS610BT head unit. I've bought 3 of them. Bluetooth, Pandora, USB, NFC, SiriusXM compatible, audio in, hands free mic. Best combination of features for what I need.

Just my $.02

This is the one I have:

https://www.amazon.com/Sony-MEXGS610BT-Receiver-Bluetooth-SmartPhone/dp/B00JDJIQ9G/ref=au_as_r?_encoding=UTF8&Make=BMW%7C31&Model=Z3%7C214&Year=2000%7C2000&ie=UTF8&n=1077068&newVehicle=1&s=car&vehicleId=1&vehicleType=automotive

I checked and it looks like it should fit your car as well (not sure if that formatting carries over in the URL, hopefully it does.)

As far as hooking it up, I'm not entirely sure, I'd personally just get a hold of someone who knows what they're doing for that one.
