You're going to need a mixer, to take the audio from the microphones and the karaoke backing track and then put out the final version (also some people sing louder than others so you'll need to be able to adjust individual volumes).
This means you'll also need an amplifier, as most TV's don't have an audio in connection.
This means you'll also need speakers.

You could look at getting some decent amplified speakers, you only need one if you're doing this in a home.

Lastly, look into something like Karafun initially as the software. You can take out a 48 hour subscription for about £5 and then you have access to all their songs. Just read about no internet at farm, not even wireless data that you can tether via mobile phone?

So to recap, you need to purchase:

Behringer truth are studio monitors for mixing music on i.e. they have a very flat frequency response and won't flatter any music you play through them at all. What you hear is what it is.

If you're into your hifi and stuff they're not necessarily what you want.

However a standard ¼ TRS to phono lead will connect them to that interface no problem at all.

Don't ask me to recommend you a hifi speaker though, I'm a pro audio engineer and stumbled across this by accident.

I will say for what it's worth though that as a playback only USB interface the Traktor Audio 2 is a much better option.

I run an RME M-16 MADI/ADAT converter in my studio for both recording and playback and the Traktor 2 is somewhat on par with it sonically for playback.

Hi, sorry I'm not familiar with the terminology - is that equivalent to balanced cables? Here's what I'm currently using.

I would use straight XLR to XLR or TRS to TRS but unfortunately the output on the Scarlett Solo is only RCA.

How could I tell if it's a ground loop?

Thanks.

Is this the same thing? I'm from the UK.

Cheers for your help :) On a side note, would you recommend the HD650s over the HD598s?
