Is it possible to plug an SAS drive into my MOBO (that only has SATA ports) via some kind of adapter cable? (like this maybe) The info on that page suggested that my SATA controller needed to support SAS drives, but I can't find any info on SAS support for my MOBO, so I was afraid I might need a third-party PCI controller for it or something.

For reference, I have a GA-Z68XP-UD3P MOBO (rev 1, I believe)

If your SATA controller supports SAS drives, something like https://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-18in-SATA-Cable-Power/dp/B000V72AQ4 would work. Otherwise you would need a SAS HBA or Raid Card.

The 2 Seagate LP are regular sata, the 6x seagates are SAS, similar to sata, but will require a converter. http://www.amazon.com/StarTech-18-Inch-Cable-Power-SAS729PW18/dp/B000V72AQ4

The connectors are physically different, but I'm positive I ran a SAS HDD on a intel ICH9 controller one time using one of these http://www.amazon.com/StarTech-18-Inch-Cable-Power-SAS729PW18/dp/B000V72AQ4.
