Ok you seem to referring to the conversion. The signals are different and therefore require conversion. Why do you want HDMI (DVI is as good just no sound)? Here is the converter I have and it works without a problem.

Here is the version to go from mDP to HDMI.

And yes the first thing you suggested will work.

No, it doesn't have a HDMI out, but it has a mini DisplayPort. The advantage of a DisplayPort is that you can hook up monitors with a resolution of up to 1600p.

If you need something with a HDMI out you can buy a mDP to HDMI adapter.

I have a Pro 12 and it came with a stand. In my opinion it’s a really good drawing tablet though if you have a mac ( i have a mac) you will need to get a adapter for one of the plugs. this is the one i bought this one:

on the first day it had a black out but just leave it alone for like 5 minutes and it’ll be perfect for the rest of the time you have it.
also in my opinion the pro 12 is a good size if you wanna be able to move it around quite a bit
