I, too, live in San Diego. I am so sorry. People are awful.

I'm guessing north park/city heights? I will look round and keep eyes open. Hopefully they keep it outside as well.

Though I cant say I am surprised from a front. You can get popup green houses that are lockable, I believe. That way if you must grow in visible areas, at least it's a little safer/private. They often have frosted windows too. Check the internet or city farmer's down on home/euclid.
