I bought a set of "anal dilators" (butt plugs used for stretching and training your bum, MedicalToys.com. I bought the semi-flexible ones for about $30). They work great. I started with the smallest and worked upwards by leaving each one in for about 20 min to get accustomed to it before going up a size. I did this from the smallest (let's call it "size 1") to "size 3" for a week, for an hour of play each evening. Then I repeated the process starting with "size 2" and going up to "size 4". After a couple of weeks of regular anal play, I could easily start playing with "size 3" or "size 4" without much trouble. "Size 5" is still a bit snug for me, but I keep taking long breaks from regular anal play...also, "size 5" is roughly 2-inches in diameter, so it's bigger than you need for comfortable anal sex in most cases.

The lube I use is called Surgilube which is water based (it's the same stuff they use in the hospital). I like it because it is more viscous than the stuff I usually find in the adult stores.
