If you have a PS3, you can snag a shiny new copy of the Chronicles edition for $30 (USD). It's both games in one, and considering the quality of the games, that's a steal.

Tales of Symphonia Chronicles on PS3! I love love love me a good JRPG and this series is one of the best. I had Symphonia ages ago, but it has since disappeared (not to mention that I no longer have a 360 anyway). I almost picked it up a few weeks ago at the store, but when I went back to get it, they'd run out.

This thing. The HD version of my favorite Gamecube game.

Not sure if you're looking for exclusives/no re-releases but:

Tales of Symphonia/DotNW, Ni No Kuni, and Star Ocean 4 are all $20 or less on Amazon.

You've got one of the best in the series right there. That is generally in the top 3 among Tales fans. I would definitely play that one first, and if you like it then try some of the others. Symphonia also received a sequel on the Wii and also a remaster of both games bundled together on the PS3.
