Great list! Adding QOL/bling improvements to games is definitely one of my favorite aspects of the hobby.

Some of my personal favorite add-ons:

  • Vinyl tape: Reusable, cheap, adds zero bulk to stacks of cards. (Edit: Damn, when I bought the tape it was $3.94. Now it's $10.13. But there are 1.5" rolls from the same manufacturer for $3.29)

  • Uberstax: Highly customizable modular plastic pieces especially useful for large hands of cards (Gloomhaven) and card markets (Argent: The Consortium). Not cheap though.

  • Stickers: Building on a post here a long time ago where winners would sign the box lids, we started buying stickers to go alongside the signatures.

I used deck boxes (and Plano boxes) for everything at first. I quickly reached the same conclusion that deck boxes and especially Plano multi-section boxes just take up way too much room.

My improved solution is, first discard the inserts. Alternatively, collect all them all in a large box in the basement. Then wrap the decks of cards with Dry Vinyl Tape. For the chits I use ziplocs and ~300mL tupperware style boxes from Daiso. Daiso (and Amazon) also have a some smaller, thinner, lighter Plano-style boxes usually marketed for beads, jewelry, and medicine that work well.

You idea is fine, but I'd doubt that it would be worth the hassle. Of course, you could go all out with it -- get a couple big plastic file storage boxes and folders to put the game boards and manuals in and a couple of those large art or fishing tackle caddies/carry-alls with the ~5-6 multi-compartment boxes for all the different chits. In theory you could carry your entire collection, depending on size, it about 3 cases.
