u/minsuno - FYI - a Viltrox EF-EOS M Speed Booster works to adapt EF lenses to EF-M mount. Sadly, it will not work with the EF-M kit lenses that come with the M50.
That said, you can probably afford a better camera with a $1,200 budget.
Instead of the M50, I recommend the $899 Fuji X-T30 bundled with the 15-45 kit lens.
This camera has higher slow motion frame rates than the M50 - plus DCI 4K resolution, an F-LOG profile and 10-bit output - important video features missing from other cameras in this price range.
And instead of plugging a VideoMicro directly into the camera, I recommend a $69 camera mountable Tascam DR-10SG shotgun with a built-in recorder, which will produce a cleaner audio track.
The DR-10SG was reviewed by Johnnie Behiri here, and there's an example shot with this mic/recorder setup here.
With a $229 Feiyutech G6 plus gimbal, you'll stay below $1,200 and get results like this:
Here is the image quality the X-T30 can produce shooting LOG (something the M50 cannot do):
Here it is with the built-in Eterna film simulation LUT:
Here it is shooting 1080/120p slow motion:
And here is the still image quality it can produce.
The X-T30 isn't perfect - it has a maximum 10 minutes of continuous recording at 4K (15 minutes at HD) and it doesn't have a flip forward screen for vlogging, but the image quality makes up for these limitations, in my view.
Hope this is helpful and good luck finding the right entry level camera for your needs!
If you are looking to slim down your Takstar + H1 Combo, The Tascam Dr10SG is a pretty good on-camera shotgun microphone with a built-in recording unit. It shares the same feature set of the DR-10L too.
I've had mine since running with an A6000 and I love it.
