I love the camera I got and I’ve recommended it to two other people who also bought it and love it. I travel for business so it gives me so much peace of mind to be able to see my house and cats when I’m out of town.

You could point it at the front door or a point of entry and use the app to be able to see when you hear a noise. I also have monitored security because it just makes me feel a lot safer. Sometimes I’m alone at night and I want to get drunk and smoke a little weed and not get freaked out or feel scare when I hear a noise. The security system makes me feel like I have security guards at every door and window. I pay $40 a month but they make you sign a contract and that sucks a lot.
Next I’m going to get mace or pepper spray. I’m not a paranoid person but I am a moderately attractive female, and I travel for work so I’m often alone, in strange places, I just don’t want to live in fear.
As others have stated, don't worry too much, filter should just run dry and hopefully shut off.
I would highly suggest grabbing a cheap Wi-Fi camera to set up though. I keep one in my fish room for peace of mind. I will link the one I have below.

It is inexpensive, works well and was very easy to set up. You can also talk to them through the camera and the app.

You might also want to consider a motion activated security camera. I installed one of these the other day and all it requires is wifi and a wall plug.

From what I saw in the settings UPnP seems to be turned off as well.
This is the one I use, seems to work pretty well! A few of my friends have it too. Not sure about the noise alerts but you can set alerts if motion is detected.
