You might enjoy "The Black Company"

While the love story isn't the main focus, it does hit every single one of your main points. As an added bonus it also makes fun of one of the points you don't like. Kinda

Its a pretty big series, the whole thing is ~3000 pages. While it is my personal favorite, that is a lot of reading to recommend.

I'd recommend The Black Company by Glen Cook. It follows a pretty jaded set of mercenaries who work for "The Bad Guy & Co." I wouldn't call the protagonist an anti-hero, but when you really think about what the company does... There are a lot of nonchalant references to acts of violence in war that other fantasy authors tend to shy away from, like rape, and I'd say the book is a pretty good description of a normal person trying to make his way through a really grim war in a mercenary company, with a lot of moral gray area.
